Makani India Advertisment

Here is an example of an advertisement in India. This image uses dark colors and simplicity to attract attention. Then as you look closer you notice this is an ad for a helpline for those who are struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. The slogan is “We Listen. We Care” and has the phone number listed.
This video was created by NDTV they explain "untreated depression disorders are the leading cause of the over 7 lakh suicides each year worldwide. The irony is that in India patients are known to have sought treatment 10 years after they first experienced the symptoms of depression. On World Health Day on April 7, WHO is focusing on Depression and Suicide, launching a year-long campaign: Depression: Let's talk." (www.ndtv.com). This video brings awareness India's depression and gets people talking about the problem.
Depression Let's Talk
Here is poster created by WHO. It uses bright colors to catch the audience's attention. The slogan of “Depression- Lets Talk” can been seen right away. The image shows an individual in black and white avoiding all others. They seem to be unhappy while the other people are trying to help them out of their dark times. The colorful people have words on them including “love”, “affection”, “happiness” and “care” which is what people need the most when they are struggling. This image uses words, colors and evokes feelings in the audience.

Depression Let's Talk
Campaign “Depression- Let’s Talk” - the World Health Organization created a campaign in 2017 about mental health issue specifically depression. The slogan they created was “Depression- Let’s Talk” which the goal was to get more people talking about the issue of depression. These posters can be used all over the world. The graphics and language are adapted based on which country is there audience. For example the one the is for China is in Chinese. Also the different cultures can be seen in the clothing and backgrounds of the posters.This campaign is trying to remove the stigma associated with depression and get everyone talking about how to fix the problem.
National Mental Health Programme
